Sealing
Shield your Stone!
Swimming Pool Coping & Paving
We recommend pre-sealing your natural stone paving. This can be done with an impregnating sealer such as STAIN-PROOF® Premium Impregnating Sealer, formerly known as STAIN-PROOF Original™.
Sealing has to be done when the stone is completely clean and dry to avoid moisture being trapped within the stone. Paving within 1200mm, or two courses of paving from the pool edge, should be treated in the same manner as the pool coping.
For softer materials such as limestone, sandstone and travertine in a freeze-thaw or salt water environment will need extra protection – use 40SK Consolidator & Water Repellent to dip seal pre-laying as per manufacturers instructions.
Sealing after Laying
All stones including stones treated with 40SK Consolidator and Water Repellent should be sealed using the STAIN-PROOF® Premium Impregnating Sealer.
